Hayley's Sitter Session

Hayley is one of my milestone clients and I've enjoyed watching her grow and capturing portraits of her at every milestone so far! We decided to have Hayley's sitter session at Jetton Park in Lake Norman. I LOVE the soft light of sunrise and the colorful glow of sunset. Hayley's parents, Morgan & Cody, love portraits and wanted to make sure we had the best lighting possible for the session. Since sunset is so late this time of the year, we decided Hayley would be far more cooperative and happier at sunrise. The one downside, sunrise is at 7:30 am...

We rescheduled the session once to avoid a 30 degree morning the weekend before but we were ready to go this past Saturday. Morgan told Cody that I was bringing a pier for Hayley to take photos on since the beach section of Jetton would be evenly lit and perfect at sunrise! Cody was a little surprised and very interested to see how a pier would fit in my Jeep. Not only does this tiny little pier fit, but Hayley rocked it out!

Hayley's beautiful blue eyes glow when paired with the Lake Norman water. She was so smiley and such an ease to photograph!

The sitter session is the perfect time to get an amazing family portrait. Hayley was so expressive and loved all of the cuddles with mom & dad during the portrait session.

I mean, seriously....THOSE TEETH!

Morgan found an adorable shirt for Hayley that says 'it's my 1/2 birthday', so adorable. The little peanut fit perfectly in my basket.

I can tell you Hayley, your parents love you very much.

Right before Hayley started melting down, we stripped her down and finished off the session. Until next time Hayley!!

Bailey Family Makes a Move

Meet the Bailey family.

Mom, JaCynthia, is a realtor in Charlotte. & Dad, Ian, is embarking on a new adventure. But, more about that later.

Big brother, Elias, loves swimming almost as much as he loves his family.

Little sister, Eden Rose, was full of giggles and absolutely adorable.

Together, they can take on the world.

Remember how I said Ian was embarking on a new adventure? Ian is answering God's call! After receiving a full ride to Duke Divinity School the Bailey family has decided to uproot from Charlotte and relocate to Durham to serve two churches in need.

Although sad to leave their family and friends in Charlotte, they are so excited about this new journey!

& Don't worry, they will be back to visit all the time!!

Congratulations Bailey family!! & Thanks for letting me photograph this very important milestone in your life.

Harper @ 2 Weeks New

It was such a blessing to have Miss Harper in the studio last week. She may have been a bit stubborn at first but after she decided she wasn't going to miss out on anything if she took a nap, she was a dream.

She sure does look pretty in pink!

Mom and Dad brought in a few handmade hats that were gifted to Harper. I just LOVE including personal items from the family into our sessions to personalize them.

Harper just ROCKED out the 'froggy' pose. & she is such a sweet looking elephant!

They are only little for a little while, so enjoy the tiny parts while they last.

She woke up when we started the basket shots and was NOT a happy camper. No worries little one, we will let you cuddle instead.

Dad's always make babies look so tiny and their big hands do a great job at comforting the little ones. Miss Harper was as content as could be in her daddy's arms. I think she looks a lot like him!

Harper just wanted to eat when she smelled her mommy but she did take a few moments to snuggle up.

There is nothing like sleepless nights and adjusting to a new baby but those squishy little ones can make you forget about all of the struggle.

I absolutely LOVE these last photos, especially Miss Harper and her mommy.

Congratulations Mom & Dad, you made a beautiful baby!
